What are the best places to golf in Broward County on a budget?
Let’s face it. Golf isn’t exactly cheap in South Florida or anywhere and there aren’t many people that can shell out $100+ a round while being able to afford living costs in South Florida.
But we love the game of golf and want to play as much as possible, without having to break the bank too bad. In order for your golf game to stay consistent and your bank account full, you must find golf courses that aren’t too expensive.
And while it makes sense to save wherever possible, we don’t want to play at a course that is in terrible conditions.
We must figure out a way to find discounts without sacrificing quality!
Well, as a South Florida native, I decided to figure out where to find the best golf at a discount.
Here is our list of the best golf courses in Broward County Florida to golf under $40.
1. Pompano Beach – Pines Course
Course Conditions: Good
Holes: 18 on the Pines course. 18 on the Palms course.
Pace of Play: Usually pretty good.
Staff Friendliness: Good.
Amenities: Awesome restaurant onsite. Driving Range. Golf Shop.
Originally designed by Greg Norman, Pompano Beach Golf Course is located in Pompano Beach, FL and can be played for just under $40 during morning hours on the weekend.
Pompano Beach Golf Course has a laid back environment wear the dress code isn’t enforced but the pace of play is still good.
Their isn’t too much difficulty to this golf course with wide fairways and an open course layout. There are a few holes where the greens are not in good shape overall, but I would say the greens are average.
2. Davie Golf and Country Club
Course Conditions: Good
Pace of Play: It depends on when their Men’s league is playing. On the weekend’s it can get pretty busy and easily be a 4+ hour round.
Staff Friendliness: Very friendly.
Amenities: Driving Range.
Davie Golf and Country Club is one of the few golf courses in the Davie, FL area and features a lot of water with some narrow fairways. This course isn’t too long at 5,900 yards from the tips but it is definitely challenging.
Expect to hit a few iron shots off the tee box on par 4’s and make sure you really think your shots through on this course.
Even if you hit the fairway, it isn’t always going to be a great shot. This course really challenges you to shape your shots in the best way possible.
3. Oriole Golf Club
Course Conditions: Very Good
Pace of Play: Good’
Staff Friendliness: Average
Amenities: Restaurant. Driving Range.
I’d consider this course a hidden gem in the Margate Florida community. In 2014, they renovated all 18 greens and the course is in very good condition as of recent play.
Oriole features an amazing 18 hole course with a wide layout with not too much water, but sets up perfectly for the signature 9th hole, which is almost entirely surrounded by water.
If you are looking for a solid par 72, 18 hole course, that is in consistent shape, Oriole Golf Club can’t be beat.
4. Bonaventure Golf Club
Course Conditions: Average
Pace of Play: Good
Amenities: Driving Range. Gar Grill. Golf Lessons.
Bonaventure Golf Club is just 15 minutes west of Ft Lauderdale Florida in Weston. It’s a well known course in the Broward County area as it has hosted famous golfers like Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia.
There hole #3 is called the “waterfall” hole beause of the raised par 3 with a waterfall starting at the front of the green.
This course used to be in very good shape but as of recent it has not been well-maintained.
